Montehermoso, Vitoria-Gasteiz, 2012

Part of the exhibition In the Belly of the Whale (Act III) curated by Rosie Cooper and Ariella Yegdar; presented under the name Côme Ciment.

Installed over the walls of a three-story ramp descending into the exhibition space, a text translated into English, Spanish and Basque is formed into a series of calligrams and illuminated by spotlights as the viewer passes by. The text describes various formats the story of Moby Dick has taken as a 104-year cycle, starting with the novel by Herman Melville and ending with a projected future scenario, an outdoor exhibition taking place above and under water.
