Awning (bed for a snake)
Ibid Projects at Art Basel Hong Kong, 2013
An iridescent, semi-transparent canopy suspended over the booth of Ibid Projects at Art Basel Hong Kong. This work developed from the series of Awning works presented under the name Breer Lazidj Nahr as part of Spieltrieb at Ibid Projects, London in 2012. Each work is presented as a potential bed for an unlikely animal inhabitant, drawing attention to the space above and the hours when the exhibition is closed. The animals (oyster, fox, walrus, whale and snake) have all featured in previous works and are brought together here as as a cast of surreal characters inhabiting the exhibition space.
